The Walt Disney Company was founded on October 16th, 1923 by brothers Walt and Roy O. Disney. In the beginning, the company was formally named four different times, Disney Brother Cartoon Studio, The Walt Disney Studio, Walt Disney Productions, and Disney Enterprises, before taking on it's current name, Disney, in 1986.
Although they both founded the company, Walt Disney was more of the creator and Roy O. Disney was the main person in charge when it came to making sure everything would be running financially stable.

Before Steamboat Willie was born, Walt created Oswald The Lucky Rabbit before starting the Disney Company. This was Disney's first creation before many, many, many, others were created even after Walt and Roy's death.

Disneyland park, or Disneyland, was one of two theme parks in Anaheim California alongside California Adventure and the only park designed and serviced under the eyes of Walt Disney himself. It was opened on July 17th of 1955 where Adventure was not opened until February 8th, 2001. Disney now has parks all over the world from Hong Kong (2005), Paris (1992), Florida (1971), Tokyo (1983), and Shanghai China (Themed Resort, 2016). 

On December 15th of 1966, Walt Disney tragically died from circulatory collapse caused by lung cancer when EPCOT was sill under construction where as his brother, Roy, died December 20th of 1971 due to intracranial hemorrhage, three months after EPCOT opened in October.

The Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund has made over $11 million to 650 conservation projects in 110 countries since 1995.

2018 - Disney just launched a food channel on the food network called 'Disney Eats' basically for kids, teaching them how to cook as well as keep up with the foods that's being served in the parks.

2018 - Hasbro bought brand to Power Rangers who was associated with DisneyToon, Freeform (that was ABC Family) : $522 Million

My first Marketing Assignment

About Me : What prompted me to enroll in this course is mainly because it's required in order to needing my certificate. Plus, I do want to start my own business someday so it'll be nice to learn the ups and downs or marketing. I'm not going for a business and or marketing major but I am going for my certificate in Event Management Planning and Social Media Technology so I guess in a way it can be considered a business or marketing major. I'm not really sure what I will be most interested in this term when it comes to Marketing. Since this is my first year of college, I'm still trying to get the hang of things and so really any new class I take is always a different adventure for me so I'm at least hoping to learn something new everyday I step into class!
